One way to solve the above set of tasks is to use the diagram (right) from the previous page, where triangle ABC has been split into two triangles with the common base CD.
We can then ask,
What happens to the base CD and to the combined height of the two triangles?

Of course, we can invent further tasks by thinking of dragging vertex A to other positions, or dragging vertex B or C.

For some moves, it might be simpler to think of triangle ABC as split vertically through BE (right).
