DAY 33

Comment

When all the tiles are laid they should form a uniform, herringbone type pattern, with no gaps between any of the tiles (though there will be gaps between some of the tiles and the walls).

Answer

Tile E is in the wrong place.

Readers' methods

Kathy B of Melksham:
It is not possible to fit a tile between D and E without spoiling the pattern (the tile would have to be turned 'upside down').
But D looks right, so E must be wrong.

Mohammad T, South Bank SE1
All the L-shapes fit nicely into each other when viewed diagonally (NE-SW), except tile E.
Tiles like A may look on their own, but they belong to a different diagonal row.
