Readers' methods
FT of Tyneside:
I added the ten numbers. Their total is 1072.
1072 divided by 10 is 107.2.
Nay A, Croydon CR2:
First, I took the average of 10 hundreds which is 100.
Then I added 7.2 to 100 and got the answer (107.2).

The Average of the first set of numbers was found by simply
adding up all the numbers and dividing by the total number.
The second set of numbers is just 100 added to the first set
so the average will be the first average plus 100 which equals
107.2
Archna G:
The average of all the 100s is 100
and the average of all the other numbers is 7.2
so the average of the numbers in the second line is 107.2
